The Feast of the Ascension commemorates Jesus’ ascension into heaven 40 days after his resurrection. Thus Ascension Day falls 40 days after Easter, on the 6th Thursday of Easter. Join us for a special liturgy for this holy day of obligation on Thursday, May 9 at 12 pm in the college chapel. Father Jason, our newly ordained campus minister, will be our presider!

Join us in the DMAC on May 9th from 6-7pm to view the work of our Senior Game Design students. They have spent the last year making a game, called “Spirit Runner”. This showcase is their thesis presentation. Check out the show poster here.

Mélange is the thesis exhibition for the 2024 class of seniors from Villa Maria College’s Fine Arts, Integrated Arts, and Photography programs. It features the thesis work of Hayley Bigham, Destiny Caceres, Valerie Diaz Perez, Tracy Mendicino, and Alexa Szuder. The exhibition will be hosted by Nomel Arts, a gallery and studio located at the Niagara Frontier Food Terminal at 1500 Clinton street in Buffalo.

This project marks the culmination of the student’s design education and a year long exploration of a problem. It is a reflection of the breadth and depth of their knowledge and skills. The work reflects not only a robust understanding and ability in all aspects of interior design, but will also show evidence of a well-rounded, liberal arts education, demonstrating research abilities, critical thinking, creativity and concern for the health, welfare and safety of the public. The Interior Design Thesis is about ideas and inquiry and uses the design process for space making and form giving.

Join us in celebrating the work of Junior and Senior Animation students at the 2024 Animation Showcase. The event will take place at the North Park Theater on Saturday, May 11th at 11:30am. Admission to the Showcase is FREE. Concessions will be available to purchase. Screening is open to the public.

The goal of Healing Hub of New York, Inc. is to provide mental health support groups to young adults who are in higher education programs to further their education or skills. The group is meant to provide some space to discuss stressors and teach skills to manage stress/anxiety/and depression. In addition, discussing coping skills in dealing with life pressures that bring on mental distress. Sponsored by the Healing Hub of New York, Inc. and the Care Center.

The Class of 2024 is required to attend a short rehearsal for this year’s Commencement ceremony. Graduates should arrive on the ground floor of the Main Building for check-in and line up promptly at 2PM. Dress is casual; please do not bring caps and gowns. The rehearsal will be followed by a reception for the Class of 2024.
