Each year, the Advertising Club of Buffalo hosts the Don Nichols Scholarship Competition. The contest provides an opportunity for Western New York’s design, writing, communications, illustration, photography and fine arts undergraduate students to submit their work to a jury consisting of individuals who are part of the local creative community.
The competition promotes creativity by presenting participating students with a theme and allowing them to decide what medium best depicts their message. This year’s theme was 2016 Presidential Election.
For the third year in a row, Villa’s students took home top awards. Congratulations to Samantha Lonczak (’17 Graphic Design), Ali Casarsa (’16, Graphic Design) & Lian Thang (’17, Graphic Design), on their respective first, second and third place wins. Some of their work can be seen below. Several students from Villa also received Honorable Mentions, including Dylan Nowak, Rebecca Warthling, Nina Puccio, and Jeffery Marotta.
