Villa Maria College Closes Campus in Response to COVID-19; Continues Academic Semester Online

By March 20, 2020March 23rd, 2020Press Release

President Giordano announced that the Villa Maria College campus will close indefinitely beginning Sunday, March 22 at 2:00pm. Students will continue online classes for the remainder of the semester. No staff can report to campus as of Sunday evening.

Previously, the College decided to suspend all in-person classes March 23rd, following spring break (March 15th – 22nd) with the hopes of returning in April. However, as circumstances evolved, the College decided to cease all on-campus activities as well.  Major campus events, such as Commencement, will be postponed or rescheduled.

Villa Maria prides itself on being student-centered.  The College will continue to support students online during this time through remote delivery of campus services.  In addition, the College is distributing computers to students who need them.  The College has freely given computers to all students who expressed need for them.  Further, Villa Maria is lending high performance computers to students in their applied arts programs in animation, game design, interior design, and graphic design.  Nearly a quarter of the campus population has been assisted by this initiative.
