The Villa Maria College community joins the Wick family in mourning the passing of Henry S. Wick on Wednesday, July 15 after a long illness.
A practicing attorney and decorated Army veteran, Mr. Wick died in Buffalo VA Medical Center. He was 91.
Mr. Wick was born in Buffalo in 1924, and he attended the University of Buffalo, earning a bachelor’s degree in 1949, and his law degree in 1951. He practiced law until he was 90 in 2014.
Beginning in the 1970s, Mr. Wick became an active benefactor and friend of the college, receiving the Founder’s Medal in 2012 and the President’s Award this past spring.
Mr. Wick and his family donated the stained glass window installed on the east-facing wall of the college library, among many other generous gifts.
The Wick will receive relatives and friends at the Wendel & Loecher Funeral Home, 27 Aurora St., Lancaster on Monday July 20 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held privately with the family at a later date.
