On Monday, August 5, 2019, Richard Pinkowski began his role as vice president for finance at Villa Maria College.
Pinkowski is a seasoned professional, who brings nearly 40 years of experience in both higher education and finance to the College. As the vice president for finance, Pinkowski is a key member of the executive management team. He is responsible for finances, with duties including management of business office operations, ownership of accounting and accounting systems, budgeting, tuition and fee collection, payroll, accounts payable, treasury functions, risk management, compliance management, purchasing, investment management and more. Pinkowski is also a member of the president’s cabinet, working with the College president and other vice presidents on strategic planning and College-wide decision making.
“Mr. Pinkowski is an excellent addition to Villa Maria College,” said Dr. Matthew Giordano, Villa’s president. “He is astute, experienced and strategic, and he possesses the exact skill set the College needs at this time. I am confident that the many areas for which he is assuming responsibility will continue to grow under his leadership.”
Before Villa, Pinkowski spent almost 30 years working as the vice president for business and finance at Hilbert College. In this role, he was responsible for all accounting and financial operations, human resources, student financial services, and physical plant operations. In addition, he served on the college’s senior leadership team.
Some of Pinkowski’s key accomplishments include annually preparing multi-year financial plans, operating and capital budgets, financial statements, and tax filings, serving as an evaluator on twenty-plus Middle States accreditation site visits, overseeing the construction of several major projects and more.
Prior to Hilbert, Pinkowski served as manager of accounting and reporting at Villanova University and an accountant at the University of Notre Dame. Pinkowski earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame, a Master of Science in Business Analytics from Indiana University and is a licensed certified public accountant in both Indiana and New York State.
