Jonathan Rivera Perez has joined the Villa Maria College community as an academic coach and student success coordinator.
In his new role, Jon will advise incoming freshmen on their course of study, coordinate and supervise the Assisted Learning Lab (ALL) and tutoring services and work with community partners to develop and deliver workshops for those who are not in college and considering post-secondary education.
Jon will also serve as an adjunct professor in the College’s liberal arts department.
Previously, Jon was an online ESL teacher at GVE Online Education, Inc. He has also worked as a high school Spanish teacher, Language Arts teacher, English teacher, and an ESL program administrator.
He earned a Bachelor of Art in Public Communications from University of Puerto Rico and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Supervision from National University College, which is located in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.
