Each year, The National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) selects 30 exceptional young professionals to join its prestigious program. Among this year’s class is Jennifer Hutton, a 2011 graduate of Villa Maria’s interior design program. As a result, Hutton will travel to the 2020 Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS), which takes place in Las Vegas at the end of January.
The show, which attracts more than 31,000 attendees and 600 exhibitors, is North America’s largest trade show dedicated to all aspects of kitchen and bath design. It offers an interactive look at the technology used by leading brands and provides many learning and professional networking opportunities.
During KBIS, Hutton, and the rest of this year’s honorees, will be asked to scour the show floor to identify the “best of” products and innovations in different categories, and to select the second annual 30s Choice Awards.
As she prepares to travel to Las Vegas to be honored, Hutton recalls her time at Villa in addition to her professional experience.
“As a 30, I’m honored and grateful to be a part of the NKBA’s future,” said Hutton. “The abundance of support from friends, family and Artisan Kitchens and Baths coupled with my academic career at Villa Maria has given me the opportunity to accept this award. Early on I was taught the value of a strong work ethic and originality in design which served as the catalyst to my career in kitchens and baths. I have had the chance to work on a number of extraordinary projects, both academically and professionally, and the instruction and guidance I’ve received has truly made me a better designer. I’m lucky to share my designs with Buffalo and thrilled to maintain an active role in this incredible industry!”
Hutton currently works as a Kitchen Designer and Countertop Specialist at Artisan Kitchens and Baths right here in Buffalo. In this role, she works on a range of projects, including new builds and a recent project with HGTV. She is an expert on floor coverings, wall coverings and countertops, and she uses her kitchen and bath design experience to create unique spaces that emphasize material selection and color coordination.
Jennifer earned her Associate of Arts and Sciences in Interior Design from Villa Maria College, and then went on to study Environmental Design at the University at Buffalo. Before moving into her current role, Hutton gained industry experience by working as a kitchen designer at K-Kitchen Company and in specialty sales at The Home Depot.
