Included works represent the most recent art by senior students in the Fine Art and Photography programs. The exhibition serves as an opportunity for students to preview artwork that they have been making in preparation for their solo senior exhibitions that will occur at the end of the current academic year. Works range from digital illustration to abstract painting, from formal explorations to images that wrestle with identity.
“Being a student at Villa has truly been an honor, I believe I made the right choice when I decided to attend this college to further work on my art,” said Alexa Szuder. “While being a student here I have been able to work closely one on one with my professors. Professors Butler and Weekley have had a tremendous influence on me and my work. Being able to have a personal studio to work in has been very helpful in allowing me to get my work done. I am very proud of the work that I have done over this semester and over my time here at Villa. The work being featured in ‘Dry Run’ holds a special place in my heart. My paintings of the endangered species is very important because I wanted to highlight how the animals we all know and love are sadly dying before our eyes.”
The exhibition runs from December 8 to December 30. An opening reception will be held on Thursday December 14 from 5-7 pm.
