The Columbia Scholastic Press Association, an international student press association, has awarded the 2018 edition of SKALD, Villa Maria’s annual arts and literary magazine, a silver medal in its first round of judging.
According to the CSPA, SKALD ’18 is being recognized for its visually vibrant and exciting cover, enticing color choices, and stunning artwork. The judges specifically noted the strength of the publication’s graphics and design.
Villa Maria College has submitted SKALD to CSPA for review annually since 2000. Since then, it has earned more than 20 awards for the publication as a whole, and for individual staff members, artists and writers in multiple rounds of judging.
