Villa Maria College has a teach out agreement for Cazenovia students to continue their studies here in Buffalo, NY starting in fall 2023. You’ll be assigned to a personal transfer counselor to help make your transition to Villa seamless. Villa's Digital Media Art Programs
Graphic Design
Led by faculty who have years of professional experience, Villa’s graphic design students become award-winning designers with an impressive job placement rate. Villa Maria has a strong relationship with the Buffalo chapter of the American Advertising Association, so our students have access to professional development events, networking events, and job opportunities. They also receive notable accolades for their work through AAF. Our graphic design students always win ADDY awards for their classwork and many times go on to win awards in the professional categories after graduation.
Interior Design
Villa Maria’s Interior Design students get hands-on experience and work alongside the professionals from their first day on campus. Students design a room in the Junior League of Buffalo’s Designer Show House, visit businesses – both locally and in New York City and more – and present their projects to interior design professionals who offer real world feedback. Interior design student work regularly receives awards from professional organizations, allowing our students to build both a portfolio and a resume. Our CIDA-accredited program requires students to complete an internship, and, in many cases, interior design internships turn into jobs upon graduation. Likewise, Villa’s faculty have established meaningful connections within the interior design industry that help students as students and as young professionals.
Digital Filmmaking
Villa Maria’s Digital Filmmaking program is the only program in Buffalo in which students receive an education that is both practical and hands on. The College has partnered with Buffalo FilmWorks – the largest major motion picture film studio in Upstate New York – so students are exposed to life on a professional film set early on in the curriculum. Film is a growing industry, especially here in WNY. Graduates of Villa Maria’s digital filmmaking program will have acquired a skillset that’s versatile, transferrable, and in high demand.
Digital Media & Communications
If you want to pursue more than one area of interest, Villa Maria’s Digital Media Communications program is the perfect place to start. You’ll learn how to craft and share messages in today’s fast-paced, digital world that is always changing. This program will prepare you to work in almost every industry. Whether you want to get into business, marketing, human resources, or become TikTok’s next viral sensation, you have the know-how to get started.
Game Design
Home to Western New York’s only Game Design program, Villa Maria just completed its Digital Media Arts Center. The DMAC is a brand new, state-of-the-art facility specifically designed for gaming and animation. Plus, the College has a sophisticated space dedicated to esports, so you can make games and play them – all while preparing for a lucrative career.
Animation
Villa Maria’s animation program is the largest in the area, and our top-of-the-line facilities reflect that. The brand-new digital media arts center (DMAC) is the most impressive lab in this area and it’s full of the high-quality technology used by the world’s biggest companies. Our dedicated and experienced faculty provide expert instruction as you work on your animation, motion graphics, post production, storyboarding, character development, and more!
