Western New York’s film industry is growing rapidly. Buffalo’s exquisite architectural scene, rich history, ample resources, and kind people have drawn several major film projects to Buffalo in recent years. The best part? Film Commissioner Tim Clark believes Buffalo’s film industry is just getting started.
BFA Program
Villa Maria is the only college in Western New York’s with a four-year Digital Filmmaking major. In this program, you’ll discover the ins and outs of this growing industry in hands-on courses in photography, production, and sound and lighting. Through coursework and internships, you’ll put together an impressive portfolio to share with potential employers by the time you graduate.
Certificate Program
Want to be ready to work on the film project’s coming to Buffalo this summer? Villa Maria’s offers two Filmmaking Certificate Programs that can be completed in just 4 weeks. Both courses, on-set grip and electric & on-set production assistant, are professionally designed and delivered. A combination of instruction and hands-on workshops will prepare you to enter the local film industry quickly.
The next round of courses will run June 25-July 2 from 9 AM to 5 PM at Buffalo Filmworks.
