Music students at Villa Maria College are taking their talents to the stage and they are inviting the general public and the rest of the College community to come along.
The Art and Music Student Showcase is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 20, 2021. Beginning at 5 PM, this student-run event will allow art and music students to share the skills they’ve developed during their time as students at the College.
Dane Weisbeck, ’22, has taken the lead on coordinating the event. “Attendees can expect a great showcase of departments’ talents, refreshments, and new sounds/genres of music all in one night,” he said. Weisbeck is also the president of the College’s music club and part of the three acts that will be performing during the Showcase.
Headlining this collaborative event are several groups of Villa Maria’s music students. Their performances promise to be creative and diverse, ranging from jazz, hip hop, individual DJ sets, and more.
Their musical acts will be brought to life with some help from the College’s animation students, who will work together to design and create digital backdrops for each of the performances. Digital filmmaking students will be present to take photos and video footage of the festivities, which they will compile to create a documentary about the Showcase.
“Interior Design students were asked to participate by decorating the main entrance of the auditorium,” said Daniella Herman, a senior interior design major and the secretary of the Interior Design Club. “We wanted to create a welcoming space everyone can walk into and a gathering place for food and drinks to be served during intermission.”
The Art and Music Showcase is free to attend, and food and beverages will be available compliments of Villa Maria College’s Music Club. Attendees can purchase food from the House of Munch food truck.

5:00-5:30: Jazz Ensemble
5:30-6:00: Hip- Hop Ensemble
6:00-6:30: Clayton
6:30-7:00: nihilcloud
7:00-7:30 Intermission with the House of Munch Food Truck
7:30-8:00: Percussion Ensemble
8:00-9:00: Rock Ensemble
The Art and Music Student Showcase will take place in the College’s auditorium. Villa Maria College is located at 240 Pine Ridge Road, Buffalo, NY 14225. The auditorium is located just through the reception area on the main floor of the Main Building.
