Sonia Campanella, a senior in Villa Maria College’s Fine Art Program, will unveil her thesis work in an exhibition tonight at The Argus Gallery in Buffalo.
Amorphous features recent abstract work by Campanella that is influenced by a mix of formal exploration and micro-organism imaging. The work traces a line between hard-edged abstraction and gestural improvisation, aligned by a particular focus on surface texture, color cultivation, and interplay of organic shapes.
Campanella will graduate from Villa Maria College this May with a Bachelor of Fine Art.
Select guests are able to view the exhibition this evening between 6 PM and 8 PM. It will run through May 13, 2021; additional viewing times by day are as follows:
- Saturday, May 1: 1 PM-4 PM
- Friday, May 7: 2 PM-6 PM
