Last month, Villa Maria College’s Interior Design students hosted an exhibit that showcased the work they have created over the past academic year. The walls of Paul William Beltz Family Art Gallery were adorned with 29 renderings and glass pieces designed by 14 of our sophomore, junior and senior students.

A jury comprised of over 20 members as
sessed all of the students’ work and judged it based on quality, originality, and professionalism. Jury members are interior design professionals working in the Western New York Community, and select Villa faculty. Several of the jury members remarked that this was the most difficult year yet for selections, and deliberations took well over an hour.
This year’s winners were:
First place: Melanie Daniels
Second place: Melanie Bruning
Third place: Ryan Morley
The best of show in the freshman class went to Allissa Galenski. The freshman class also challenged their audience, with each chair rendering being meticulously detailed and accurate.
The event doubled as a fundraiser for the IN Club, Villa’s Interior Design club. Several students sold original work in a boutique, and others volunteered at a Chinese basket raffle. Between the two, the IN Club raised $230.
