Business First Highlights New Baccalaureate Programs

Villa Maria College recently announced the addition of two Bachelor of Fine Arts degree programs in graphic design and photography which are slated to begin at the start of the fall 2010 semester, following approval by the New York State Department of Education. Both programs are designed to allow students who enter associate-degree programs in either subject to move into a bachelor's-degree program.

Courses for the graphic design BFA include graphic design fundamentals, visual communications, advertising, publication and advanced Web design and business-specific advertising courses. The photography program includes courses in studio photography, digital imaging, marketing, documentary and photojournalism and advertising. Both programs require two internships and culminating projects.

The new degrees bump up the number of bachelor's degrees offered at the college, which also offers four-year programs in animation, fashion design and merchandising, interior design and music and music industry.
