Online Databases

All of the databases are available off-campus to registered members of the VMC community. Present a current valid VMC ID card at the Library Circulation Desk to receive the necessary passwords and user codes.

Business and Company ASAP --information on companies, markets and industries. From market trends, mergers and acquisitions to current management theory and company overviews. Access business and trade journals, newspapers and company directory profiles with full text and images.
Custom Newspapers--search a collection of 150 newspapers, both national and international.
DOAJ -Directory of Open Access Journals --this service covers free, full text, quality controlled scientific and scholarly journals. Covers all subjects and languages.

EBSCOhost --Several databases are available including Academic Search Elite , Business Source, Health Source, Medline and Eric which provide full-text articles for thousands of journals covering the social sciences, humanities, general science, multi-cultural studies, education, medicine and much more.
Grove Music Online -- Grove Music Online comprises the full text of The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, second edition, The New Grove Dictionary of Opera and The New Grove Dictionary of Jazz, second edition.
Health and Wellness Resource Center and Alternative Health Module --find magazines, journals, newspapers, definitions, directories and information on: fitness, pregnancy, medicine, nutrition, diseases, Public Health, Occupational Health, Safety, Alcohol and Drug Abuse, Prescription Drugs, Herbal remedies, and alternative or complementary treatments. Includes links to diet, cancer and health assessment.
Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (JAAOS)--is a review journal and published by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the world's largest medical association of musculoskeletal specialists. National Newspaper Index--provides quick access to the indexing of America's top five newspapers in one seamless search: The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Christian Science Monitor, Los Angeles Times and The Washington Post.
New York State Newspapers-- contains ten major newspapers published in the state of New York, including the New York Times, New York Post and The Buffalo News.
ProQuest -- search multiple databases with access to thousands of journals, newspapers and magazines. Contains full-text articles from 1986.
PubMed Central --U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) free digital archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature
The Twayne Author--Twayne World, US, and English Authors each contains the full text of 200 frequently used Twayne Library Masters books on individual World, US, or English authors, for a total of 600 individual full-text titles.
WWD.com (Women's Wear Daily) - full-text fashion articles. Past twelve months are available from search date. Search online magazine on campus only.
