As of February 2004 NYS education department implemented the Teacher Assistant Certification requiring all public school Teacher Assistants to be certified. This certification requires 18 credit hours of college level course work. The Education Department of Villa Maria College offers courses that fulfill this requirement. www.highered.nysed.gov/tcert

Course Work

The following course work will qualify for the eighteen credit hours required by the New York State Education Department. This course work is offered through the Education Department at Villa Maria College in both the day and evening programs and can be applied to an Associate Degree.
